Bring your hat and sunglasses! \n\n\n\nRobin Calderwood oversees the training for the Sierra Central Canine Search and Rescue Team’s canine group. The team is certified by the California Area Rescue Dog Association (CARDA). It operates 24/7\, ready to deploy at a moment’s notice to assist in locating missing individuals. The team consists of volunteers. As the team leader\, Robin’s responsibility is to ensure each member receives appropriate training based on their current stage in the search-and-rescue process. Robin takes great pride in the dedication and commitment shown by each team member and is confident that\, with ongoing training and collaboration\, the team will continue to make a positive impact on the community. \n\n\n\nRobin and the team will discuss various aspects of working with a canine in search and rescue\, including the training required to teach a dog to search for missing people. Stations are at Wishon\, Courtright Lakes\, and Dinkey Creek. He has been operating for over 45 years and has transported more than 20\,000 people and their gear. He’s also a Podiatric Physician and Surgeon practicing in Clovis for 43 years and is now retired. Also\, Dr. Clyde is serving his 7th elected term on the Fresno County Board of Education. Prior to that\, he served on the Clovis Unified School Board. \n\n\n\nDr. Clyde’s 2 books\, titled Life Lessons on the Sierra Trail and Trail Talk\, will be the subject of this most interesting discussion.
