DESCRIPTION:Date\n\n\n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\n\n12:30 – 1:00 PM – Check-in/Registration\n\n\n\n1:00 PM – Presentation\n\n\n\n\nPrice\n\n\n\n$5/Adults\, CSHS Members are Free! \n\n\n\nNot a Member? Join Today! \n\n\n\n\nVIP seating for The CAB Street Band\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTom Fearer was introduced to highway enthusiasm by his father during the 1980s after a road trip from Detroit to Chicago via US Route 12.  Tom relocated from the Midwest to Arizona in 2001 and began writing about numerous highway corridors with ties to ghost towns.  Tom relocated to Florida in 2013 and would provide map drawings of the 1928 iteration of the Overseas Highway\, which the Pigeon Key Museum later used. \n\n\n\nIn 2016\, Tom relocated to the Central Valley of California and began writing as a member of the Gribblenation highway page.  Gribblenation is a highway blog site that carries the philosophy of “every road has a story.”  Tom has since launched the Golden States Highways\, US Route 99\, and Hawaii Roads and Highways subpages on Gribblenation.  Tom has made several appearances on the Roadwaywiz YouTube channel during featured webinars\, including Roads of Oahu and Southern California. \n\n\n\nOutside of the world of highways\, Tom is a distance runner and avid hiker.  Tom has visited all the National Parks located in the continental United States and Hawaii during various road trips.  Professionally\, Tom has worked in the Physical Security management field for over twenty years with multiple companies and government bodies. \n\n\n\nTopics for Sierra Voices at CSHS 8/8/2026:\n\n\n\n\nThe Old Tollhouse Road\n\n\n\nThe planned Piute Pass Highway\n\n\n\nThe history of California State Route 168\n\n\n\nThe Minaret Summit Highway proposals\n\n\n\nTime permitting\, the Dinkey Creek Truss Bridge and Italian Bar Bridge\n\n\n\n\nSponsors\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Bertha and John Garabedian Charitable Foundation – Donating to the Sierra Voices program since 2013
