Founded in 1991 by the Central Sierra Historical Society, The Museum of the Sierra preserves the cultural and natural history of the Sierra Nevada through education and curation of historical artifacts and stories.

The Mission of the Central Sierra Historical Society & Museum, Inc. (CSHS) is to provide cultural and educational experiences to deepen the understanding of the human and natural history of the Sierra region.
