Presenting: Camp Sierra
Presentation Summary:
Camp Sierra, in the Sierra National Forest, was established in 1917 by Methodist ministers and lay members as Sierra Chautauqua, which was for education of all kinds, arts, concerts, and social activities for Methodist families and their quests and an opportunity to enjoy a respite in the Sierra’s while escaping the heat of the summers in the San Joaquin Valley.
Camp Sierra is currently composed of two entities: 71 recreational residences, or cabins, of which four were lost in the Creek Fire.
