Education Comes to Life

Schedule a tour and experience education for all ages at the Museum of the Sierra! Guided tours may be arranged for youth, adult, or family groups, providing meaningful learning opportunities for everyone.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) concepts—and more—come to life through hands-on engagement with artifacts from our diverse region. Visitors can explore topics such as Hydroelectricity (Process & the Big Creek Project), Railroads, Logging & Forestry (including the Creek Fire), Geology & Mining, Shaver Lake History, Native Plants & Animals, and Native American culture and history.

With a nature trail on our property, guests can also enjoy docent-led walks that highlight the Sierra forest ecosystem at mile-high elevation.

Our tours are designed to educate and inspire! School groups may customize their experience to focus on specific themes or have content adapted to any grade level. Learn more about Field Trips.
