Steam-up/Powerhouse Demo #5
Beginning at 10:00 am the Sierra Steamers offer a free demonstration of a "Steam-Up", a 1905 Dolbeer Steam Donkey located in the Museum's Parking Lot. Bring the kids and let them blow the whistle. Kids of "ALL" ages will enjoy this demonstration!At 12:00 pm come witness a live demonstration in our Redinger Powerhouse, the only fully functioning demonstration powerhouse in the world on museum property that can generate electricity!

A ten year study to try and find out why the deer population went from 20,000 to less than 10,000 in just a few years. Was it the Mountain Lion? How about cattle grazing? Cone Harvesting Workday
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The Central Sierra ResiliencyFund's Seedlings of Hope program and its partners will be hosting a cone harvesting workday at the Museum of the Sierra. Volunteers will assist CSRF in collecting seeds from Ponderosa, Jeffrey, and Sugar pinecones. These seeds will be sown at local nurseries in an effort to continue our reforestation efforts within the Fresno County footprint of the CreekFire. Lunch and water will be provided.
