We are excited to have back again with us this year, San Joaquin Valley Antique Flywheelers, EDGETA Branch 63 from Clovis, CA (Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association) They have become a regular part of our Annual Ice Cream Social Day, and we are excited to have them once again be part of this fun-filled day. They will be bringing with them several of their displays, fun for all ages.

Beginning at 10:00 am the Sierra Steamers offer a free demonstration of a "Steam-Up", a 1905 Dolbeer Steam Donkey located in the Museum's Parking Lot. Bring the kids and let them blow the whistle. Kids of "ALL" ages will enjoy this demonstration! At 12:00 pm come witness a live demonstration in our Redinger Powerhouse, the only fully functioning demonstration powerhouse in the world on museum property that can generate electricity!

Hike Leader -Meg Tallberg Hike Description: This is an easy to moderate 3/4 mile hike from the Dinkey Creek Store to the Pine Logging Camp.  We will wend our way thru. the forest & next to a lovely creek before arriving at the logging camp.  We will tour the camp & learn a little bit about its’ history. Buffalo Soldier educators from the Buffalo Soldier Mounted Cavalry Unit, based in Three Rivers, CA will have an encampment of tents that re-create a 19th Century U.S. military bivouac. Representatives in historically accurate uniforms will educate and inform the public about the challenges and contributions of segregated African American troops on the American frontier. Educators will speak with the public and have period replicas to accurately depict the life of a 19th Century soldier.
